Olive Clutter Swart, 87, of Chesapeake, Va., formerly of Washington, died at 1 AM Wednesday, July 15, 1992, in Lynn Shores Manor Nursing Home in Virginia after a lengthy illness. She was born March 13, 1905, in Morris Township, Greene County, a daughter of John M. and Minnie Wise Clutter. Mrs. Swart was a member of Beulah Baptist Church, and worked for Prudential Insurance Co. For 25 years. She also worked 14 years at Marshall's Luncheonette. She retired as a housemother at Washington Hospital School of Nursing in 1977. Her husband, Walter H. Swart, died Dec. 16, 1945. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Harold "Virginia S." Peters of Chesapeake, a son, Wayne C. Swart of Waterford; two sisters, Goldie Bamberger of Beulah and Veva Wright of Waynesburg; five grandchildren, Harold J. Peters, Jr., Dale A. Peters, David W. Peters, Kalen J. Peters, and Tracy S. Swart; and two great-grandchildren. Deceased are two sisters, Jamella Moore and Etta McWhorter.
More: Friends of Olive C. Swart of Chesapeake, Va., formerly of Washington, who died Wednesday, July 15, 1992, will be received from 7-9 PM Thursday and 11 AM-1 PM, the hour of services. Friday, July 17, in the Hummell and Barnhill Funeral Home Inc., 585 Fayette Street, Washington, with the Rev. Kenneth N. Schott officiating. Burial in Enon Cemetery, Greene Co.
