Shirley M. May , 79, of Mill Run, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in Maple Valley Personal Care Home, Indiana, Pa.

She was born Oct. 6, 1935, in Jones Mills, a daughter of the late Caton and Beulah Cramer KaIp. Mrs. May was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School, Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of Mill Run United Methodist Church, where she was a former Sunday School teacher and was a very active member of the church. She was also a member of the Gideons.

She is survived by her husband, J.C. May ; her children, John D. May and his wife, Judy, of Mill Run, Roger May and his wife, Nancy, of Mill Run, Ray E. May and his wife, Kim, of Mill Run, and Lynae Williams and her husband, John, of Indiana; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sisters, Peg Brown, of Acme, Louise Keslar and her husband, Lynn, of Acme, Diane Hoffer and her husband, William, of Acme, and Judy DeFlippo and her husband, Don, of Mt. Pleasant; her brothers, E. Arnold Kalp, of Lafrobe, Tom Kalp, of Acme, Fred Kalp and his wife, Judy, of Acme, Jim KaIp and his wife, Lois, of Acme, and Wayne Kalp and his wife, Cindy, of Friedens. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Allen and Elton Kalp; and a sister, Julia Donavan.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., corner of Municipal Building Road and Route 711, Melcroft. Additional viewing will take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Mill Run United Methodist Church, where services will follow at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Randy Newell and the Rev.
