| News/Obit* | 1 December 2009 | Milbourne "Jr." Griffith Jr. Milbourne "Jr." Griffith Jr., 65, of Pittsgrove Township, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, Nov. 29, 2009, at South Jersey Healthcare-Elmer Hospital, in Elmer. The husband of Sally Jo Griffith (nee Miller), he was born in Red Ash, Va., and was the son of the late Milbourne Griffith and the late Elva Griffith (nee Pruitt). He has lived at at the same residence for over 40 years. "Jr." as his friends knew him, grew up in Raven, Va., and had worked at the local coal mines. In his early 20s, he relocated to Pittsgrove Township, and began a career as a forklift operator at both Seabrook Bros. and Sons, in Seabrook, and Safeway Freezer Co., in Vineland. After more than 30 years of service, he retired. Mr. Griffith was a devoted family man and worked hard to take care of his family. During his free time, he would go deer and rabbit hunting, and he also enjoyed local fishing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and had a great love of card games, especially "Dirty Dog." In addition to his wife of over 40 years, he is survived by three children, Milbourne J. Griffith and his girlfriend, Patricia Taylor, of Pittsgrove, Bobby Joe Griffith and his wife, Dawn, of Vineland and Jennifer Munson and her husband, Christopher, of Conshohocken, Pa.; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Ann Griffith , Joseph Ryder Griffith , Dominic James Griffith , Abigail Teresa Munson and Zachary Christopher Munson; one great-grandchild, Aubry Noll; three sisters, Mary Morris, of Cedar Bluff, Va., Katheryn Stissel, of Kings Port, Tenn., and Peggy Wells, of Terra Alta, W.Va.; two brothers, Lawrence Griffith , of Raven, Va., and Paul Griffith , of Raven, Va.; and cousin and best friend, Herbert Griffith and his wife, Jean. He was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Griffith . Friends are invited to attend his funeral service on Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, at 11 o'clock at the Freitag Funeral Home, 137 W. Commerce St., Bridgeton, with Rev. Linwood Sharp, of the Rosenhayn United Methodist Church, officiating. The interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, in Deerfield Township. Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Griffith 's memory to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Road, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
