     Meliora Ann Andrews was born on 6 February 1826.1

Meliora married Peyton Talley GRAVES, son of David GRAVES and Mary Russell, on 30 September 1841 in Lowndes County, Alabama. She was the daughter of Moses Andrew and Mary Ann Walton. William Rice, minister of the gospel, performed the service.2,3

Meliora Ann Andrews and Peyton Talley GRAVES appeared as head of household on a census enumerated 21 October 1850 in Lowndes County, Alabama. The household was listed as Peyton T. Graves, a 27-year-old planter and his 24-year-old wife, Meleosa [Melora].They had four children: David R; Moses A., 5; Thomas J., 3; and Mary A., 2. Peyton had real estate valued at $4,000. The slave census for 1850 shows that he owned 26 slaves.4

Meliora Ann Andrews died on 1 August 1869 in Lowndes County, Alabama, at age 43.1 She was buried in Graves Burying Ground.
