He was born in 1831/32 (2 (29 in 1861)).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 27 October 1861 (1, 2, 3). He enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2, 3). He was mustered in as a private, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (2). He was a private in company B (1, 4).

The company C descriptive roll has an entry about him, among a group of men transferred from company B to company C, but it is crossed out (3). Perhaps he was supposed to be transferred to company C, but the transfer was cancelled.

He was not on the muster-out roll when the regiment mustered out (1,2). He was a private, in company B (4).
