He had attended school within the year (5).

In 1860, he was living in the seventh ward of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (4). He was probably a locksmith (4).

When he enlisted, he was a lock[smith?] (3).

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 4 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, brown eyes, and dark hair (3).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 18 December 1861 (1, 3). He was enrolled for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Milligan (3). He was mustered in as a private in company K (1, 6).

He deserted at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on 26 December 1861 (1, 2). He was a private, in company K (6).
