More information
The material
This study draws on information collected about some 3500 Sugg individuals and their families and is based on research carried out up to August 2003. Inevitably
there are many strands of evidence that have yet to be uncovered and new information might well lead to the modification of the present conclusions. The most detailed study has been of families in Somerset,
Dorset and London but it is unlikely that this has distorted the overall picture.
The purpose
The original booklet and this website were created principally to encourage members of the Sugg family to share any knowledge that they might have in order to better complete the overall picture.
The author would be delighted to receive any such information and to incorporate it into future research. Please contact him by
email.
It is hoped that this website might be further developed to include much more information about the Sugg family
Acknowledgements
I am very grateful to many people who have provided me with information which otherwise would have been very difficult to find. In particular to Joyce Cook for providing me with the comprehensive
results of her research into the Sugg family in Somerset and Christopher Sugg (unrelated) who has supplied a great deal of information about the Sugg family of which he is part.
