Maria Apolonia Hamman was born say 1688.¹ She was christened on 31 October 1688 at the Lachen-Speydorf Reformed Church, in Lachen-Speyerdorf, Palatinate, Bayern, Germany.² She was the daughter of Peter Hamman and Anna Maria Miller. She probably followed the German naming custom and went by the name of Apolonia. She was confirmed in 1702 at the Lachen-Speydorf Evangelisch-Reformierte Kirche, in Lachen.³ Maria Apolonia married Hans Henrich Mühlschlägel, son of Hans Jacob Mühlschlägel and Anna Margretha (?), on 7 September 1707 in Lachen.⁴ He went by the name of Henrich. Maria Apolonia and Hans Henrich had 10 children. These children are Johann Andreas, Ephrosina, Johannes, Johanna Maria, Anna Margretha, Johann Henrich, Maria Catharina, Christina Margretha, Johann Henrich and Johann Nicolaus. Five of these children died before they were seven years old. Their first child, Ephrosina, was born circa 1708.⁵ Johannes, their second child, was born on 16 January 1710 in Lachen.⁶ On 10 August 1712, their third child, Johanna Maria, was born in Lachen.⁷ Their fourth child, Anna Margretha, was born on 27 March 1715 in Lachen.⁸ Johann Henrich, their fifth child, was born circa 1717.⁹ On circa 1720, their sixth child, Johann Nicolaus, was born.⁹ Their seventh child, Maria Catharina, was born circa 1722.⁵ Christina Margretha, their eighth child, was born on 1 April 1725 in Lachen.¹⁰ On 26 July 1728, their ninth child, Johann Henrich, was born in Lachen.¹¹ Their tenth child, Johann Andreas, was born on 15 April 1730 in Lachen.¹² She is the mother of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
