     Ann (?) was born circa 1824.^1,2,3 Ann married John Milslagle, son of George Milslagel (Junior) and Axsha Cheshire, circa 1845 in Hampshire County, Virginia. John was about 30 and Ann was about 21.¹ Ann and John had 7 children. These children are William, Charles W., George W., Lafayette, John W., Flora J. and Frederick L..⁴
          John, age 33, and Ann, age 24, were enumerated on the 1850 Federal Census in District #16, Frederick County, Virginia. Also enumerated in this household was their son, William, age 1.⁵ Follow the link to see the census image.
          John, age 46, and Ann, age 35, were enumerated on the 1860 Federal Census in Piedmont, Hampshire County, Virginia. Also enumerated in this household were their children: William (age 11), Charles (age 10), George (age 7), Lafayette (age 2) and John (age 1).           John, age 55, and Ann, age 46, were enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census for the New Creek Post Office in Piedmont Township, Mineral County, West Virginia. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Charles (age 19), Lafayette (age 12), John (age 10), Frederick (age 5), and Flora (age 2). Sons William (about 21 years old) and George (about 17 years old) are not enumerated in the household. John's personal property was valued at $200 and his real estate was valued at $1600.⁷ Follow the link to see the census image.
          John, age 65, and Ann, age 55, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Piedmont, Mineral County, West Virginia. Also enumerated in this household were their four children: Charles (30 years old, unemployed for the past 12 months), John (19 years old, also unemployed for the past year), Frederick (15 years old, attends school), and Flora (12 years old, not marked for attending school). John (Sr.) has been unemployed for the last 12 months. He had worked as an Engineer for the BO Railroad.⁸ Follow the link to see the census image.
