     Jacob Milslagle (Junior) was born circa 1817 in Hampshire County, Virginia.^1,2,3,4 He was the son of Johann Jacob Mühlschlägel and Elizabeth Cooper.⁵ He may have been enumerated on the 1820 census for Hampshire Co in the household of his father as a male aged from newborn to ten years old.⁶ Follow the link to see the census image.⁶ He may have been enumerated on the 1830 census for Sandy Ridge, Hampshire County, Virginia in the household of his father as a male aged ten to fifteen years old.⁷ Follow the link to see the census image. He may have been enumerated on the 1840 census for Sandy Ridge in the household of his father as a male aged twenty to thirty years old.⁸ Follow the link to see the census image. According to Garner on 1 March 1850, several of Jacob Seniors heirs went together to sell the land but she did not mention other names. There appears to have been a problem dividing Jacob's (Senior) estate.⁹ Jacob, age 30, was enumerated in the household of his mother on the 1850 Federal Census in District #24, Hampshire County, Virginia.¹⁰ Jacob worked as a farmer.           Jacob married Margaret (?) between 1852 and 1854 in Hampshire Co.¹ Jacob and Margaret had 3 children. These children are Mary Jane, Edward and Flora Belle.¹
          Jacob, age 43, and Margaret, age 26, were enumerated on the 1860 Federal Census in Smith's Gap, Hampshire County, Virginia. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Mary (age 7) and Edward (age 4).¹¹ Jacob worked as a farmer.           Jacob, age 52, and Margaret, age 38, were enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census for the Romney Post Office in Sherman Township, Hampshire County, Virginia. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Mary (age 17), Edward (age 15), and Florence (age 5).² Jacob worked as a farmer. His real estate was valued at $1000 and his personal estate was valued at $235.² Follow the link to see the census image.
          Jacob, age 60, and Margaret, age 44, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Sherman Magisterial District, Hampshire County, West Virginia. Also enumerated in this household were their children: Mary (age 25), Edward (age 23), and Belle (age 18).¹² Jacob worked as a farmer.¹² Follow the link to see the census image. It appears that Jacob Milslagle (Junior) sold most of the original land before his death in 1882.¹
          Jacob died in 1882 in Hampshire County, West Virginia.¹ He was 65 years old. He is the grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
