[9535] This based on the birth date of the first known child of thismarriage.
[163]
He was a legatee under the Will of his brother, Edmund Cobbs in1690-91, and was a beneficiary of the Will of his uncle Thomas Cobbsin 1702. In 1693-94, he was a constable of the upper preceincts ofBruton Parish; he also lived on Queen's Creek in that precinct. In1696, he was one of the securities for "Mr. Abraham Vinckler, guardianto William Jones, orphan of Rowland Jones, clerk." In 1696, MatthewJeffreys deeded as a gift to "Robert Cobbs of Bruton Parish, YorkCounty, planter,..50 acres...at the head of Queen's Creek, beginningat ye old mill and so running up a little swamp...ending at a fieldnow of late known as Silvester Tutnam's field." Robert's brother Othowas a witness to this deed.
[164]
This document was proved in York County on 18 September 1727,indicating he had died in the interim period since signing theinstrument less than two months earlier. In it Robert ordered hisestate to be divided among "all my children". He appointed his sonsVinckler and John Cobbs co-executors.
[196] As she was not mentioned in her husband's Will, it is likely she wasalready deceased.
[154] He was named an executor of his father's Will in 1727, indicating hewas born at least before 1706.
[522] He was mentioned in the land records of St. Paul's Parish of HanoverCounty, Virginia, as early as 1727, although he was apparently still aresident of Henrico County until at least 1734. In 1763, theprocessioners of Hanover made mention of "Vinckler Cobbs orphans".
[523] This based on the fact that being named a co-Executor of his father'sWill, he had already reached his majority by 1727.
[6261] In consideration of her parent's age, it seems evident she must havebeen the last born of their children.

[9635] The date of this marriage is calculated by the fact that Elizabeth wasthe spouse-name listed by Morgan Morgan, on land transactions inPickens District, South Carolina, during this period.
[4120]
Morgan Morgan filed his Will in Pickens District, South Carolina, on27 August 1827. The instrument itself is fairly simple, only one pagein length. One must, however, keep two things in mind when examiningthis document. First, both Morgan and his wife Elizabeth had beenmarried before. And secondly, Morgan's estate was fairly extensive, his being a man of very respectable status. In short, he left hisentire estate to his widow, Elizabeth, for her exclusive use as longas she lived, or until she remarried ... then everything was to go tohis children, whom he had by his first wife Sarah Williams.
Transcription: "South Carolina, Pendleton District, Pickens County,August 27, 1827 ... I Morgan Morgan of the State and Districtaforesaid, calling to mind the mortality of my body knowing it isappointed for all men once to die, do think it proper to make this myLast Will and Testament. First of all, my just debts being paid, I dowill that my wife Elizabeth Morgan, enjoy peaceable possession of thehome plantation, grist mill, and cotton machine, together with thedwelling house, household and kitchen furniture and plantation tools, together with all necessary and useful things upon a plantation forher benefit with as much of the stock as she may deem necessary forher use and support and so continue during her life or widowhood andat her death or marriage to another man, the balance to be returnedback to my children. I will also that my wife Elizabeth Morgan be myExecutrix and my son David Morgan my Executor, and if any balance ofproperty over and above the aforementioned support of my wife, I willthat it be disposed of at the discretion of my Executors and as muchto the benefit and satisfaction of my children equally ------(illegible)------ by selling or dividing it and I will that thebalance of money left us by our friend Barkers (sic) of England at mydecease be for the sole benefit of my wife Elizabeth Morgan.
Signed in prescence of Morgan Morgan "
Nimrod Sullivan
James Cannon
Henry Cobb
It is interesting to note that first, neither Morgan or any of thewitnesses signed by a "mark", indicating that all were literate men.Secondly, the signature of Nimrod Sullivan, whose name can also befound in the Will of Robert Cobb (son of John S. Cobb). And thirdly, the name of Henry Cobb, possibly a kinsman of Elizabeth Morgan, by themarriages of her daughters into the Cobb family of Pickens District.
Morgan's Will was prooved on 12 February 1836, indicating he had diedin the interum since it's filing in 1827, and probably in late 1835,or January 1836.
The estate was auctioned publicly on 3 March 1836. A. A. Cobb(Elizabeth's son-in-law by her first marriage) served as auctioneer. The list of purchasers follows:
John Evans
Benjamin Seago (son-in-law, husband of Sarah Morgan)
John McWhorter (probably a kinsman of the Seago family)
John G. Mauldin
Henry Head (son-in-law, husband of Mary Morgan)
Rowland Cobb (Elizabeth's son-in-law by her first marriage)
Joseph Grisham
A. A. Cobb
T. M. Evans

On 24 February 1836, Benjamin Seago and Henry Head signed an affidavitas the legal representatives of their wives (Sarah and Mary, respectively), as daughters of Morgan Morgan, agreeing to the terms ofMorgan's Will, allowing Elizabeth peaceable possesion of his estate.
On 5 October 1836, one David Morgan of West Union, South Carolina, issued a statement acknowledging his receipt of his (one-ninth) partof the real estate of his deceased father, Morgan Morgan. On 18September 1837, one Joseph Morgan issued a statement to the PickensCounty Ordinary, acknowledging his receipt of "sixty-five silverdollars" as payment for his (one-ninth) share of the real estate ofhis deceased father, Morgan Morgan.
On 31 January 1838, Joseph Stephens and William Poole, residents ofGwinnett County, Georgia, issued a statement acknowledging theirreceipt of their wives (Ann Stephens and Miriam Poole) shares of thesale of the real estate of Morgan Morgan.
[4121] By then all his children were married and all but son David had leftPickens District. The only persons in his household were himself andhis second wife Elizabeth (Miller Edwards) Morgan.
[1693] She was listed as the head of her own household, next door to herson-in-law, Rowland Cobb, indicating that she was already a widow fromher marriage to Mr. Edwards.
