All properties situated in Rewiti to my two sons Daniel Lyons and Thomas Henry Lyons both of Rewiti as tenants in common in equal shares and all property in Auckland or elsewhere for my daughter Catherine Lyons absolutely and I direct that as from the date of my death my two said sons shall permit my said daughter to lodge in the house situate on my property at Rewiti as long as she shall choose to lodge and that my said sons shall from the date of my death pay to my said daughter for so long as she live the sum of 3 pounds per week which payment shall be a charge on the lands at Rewiti hereby devised in trust for my said sons.

I further direct that in the event of both or either of my daughters Ellen Vera (now Sister Phillippa of the order of Sisters of Mercy) and Johanna Cecilia (now Sister Edmund of the order of Sisters of Mercy) leaving the said order within the space of five years from the date of this Will my said sons shall provide them or the one so leaving with board and lodging in the house situate on my said lands at Rewiti for so long as she or they may choose to live therein and as to any residue of my real or personal property I give devise and bequeath to my trustees for my daughter Catherine absolutely.

I appoint Thomas Loughman of Woodhill, farmer and Thomas Francis Moore, of the same place, farmer, jointly the executors and trustees of this Will.

A Codicil dated 13 June 1921 revokes Thomas Moore as a trustee and appoints his sons Edward Lyons and Daniel Lyons as trustees with Thomas Loughman.

The sole beneficiary of his Will is his wife Eileen Dorothy Lyons for and during her lifetime or until her remarriage for her own use and benefit absolutely. Upon the death of Eileen the rest, residue and remainder of personal estate among such of my children that are living at the date of my decease.

He also gives the said executors power in their discretion to lease carron on or manage any of my properties and further more give to my said executors power in their discretion from time to time to sell the whole or any part of my real or personal estate and to invest the proceeds derived from insecurities of such a nature as trustees are by law in New Zealand permitted to invest in trust funds.

All properties situated in Rewiti to my two sons Daniel Lyons and Thomas Henry Lyons both of Rewiti as tenants in common in equal shares and all property in Auckland or elsewhere for my daughter Catherine Lyons absolutely and I direct that as from the date of my death my two said sons shall permit my said daughter to lodge in the house situate on my property at Rewiti as long as she shall choose to lodge and that my said sons shall from the date of my death pay to my said daughter for so long as she live the sum of 3 pounds per week which payment shall be a charge on the lands at Rewiti hereby devised in trust for my said sons.

I further direct that in the event of both or either of my daughters Ellen Vera (now Sister Phillippa of the order of Sisters of Mercy) and Johanna Cecilia (now Sister Edmund of the order of Sisters of Mercy) leaving the said order within the space of five years from the date of this Will my said sons shall provide them or the one so leaving with board and lodging in the house situate on my said lands at Rewiti for so long as she or they may choose to live therein and as to any residue of my real or personal property I give devise and bequeath to my trustees for my daughter Catherine absolutely.

Obituary3 February 1921Obituary of Mr John Lyons, a well-known farmer of Rewiti, died at his residence on Thursday last, 21st ult., after a long and and painful illness, at the age of 34 years. The body was brought into Helensville by train on the following Saturday. There were a large number of settlers present and the Rev. Father Bleakley officiated at the graveside.
On Sunday next the services at the Catholic Church, Helensville will be taken by Rev Father Edward Lyons, who is a native of the parish, having been born at Rewiti. Father Lyons was only recently ordained, and is temporarily in charge of the parish of Puhoi. Kaipara and Waitemata Echo, 3 Feb 1921, page 2.

(Witness) Will21 October 1932He witnessed the will of John Henry Lyons on 21 October 1932; John Henry Lyons made his Will on 12 February 1927. He died on 15 August 1932 and his Will was probated on 21 October 1932. His will reads:

All properties situated in Rewiti to my two sons Daniel Lyons and Thomas Henry Lyons both of Rewiti as tenants in common in equal shares and all property in Auckland or elsewhere for my daughter Catherine Lyons absolutely and I direct that as from the date of my death my two said sons shall permit my said daughter to lodge in the house situate on my property at Rewiti as long as she shall choose to lodge and that my said sons shall from the date of my death pay to my said daughter for so long as she live the sum of 3 pounds per week which payment shall be a charge on the lands at Rewiti hereby devised in trust for my said sons.

I further direct that in the event of both or either of my daughters Ellen Vera (now Sister Phillippa of the order of Sisters of Mercy) and Johanna Cecilia (now Sister Edmund of the order of Sisters of Mercy) leaving the said order within the space of five years from the date of this Will my said sons shall provide them or the one so leaving with board and lodging in the house situate on my said lands at Rewiti for so long as she or they may choose to live therein and as to any residue of my real or personal property I give devise and bequeath to my trustees for my daughter Catherine absolutely.

I appoint Thomas Loughman of Woodhill, farmer and Thomas Francis Moore, of the same place, farmer, jointly the executors and trustees of this Will.

A Codicil dated 13 June 1921 revokes Thomas Moore as a trustee and appoints his sons Edward Lyons and Daniel Lyons as trustees with Thomas Loughman.
