Just before John Richard Fletcher Paylor took sick he bought a pair of
boots. He danced and kicked around like a little kid. He had never
acted
like that before. He made all the shoes for the family and tanned the
leather and used wooden pegs. He built a house using a hammer, saw,
and
drawing knife. This house was never finished upstairs. There was a
fireplace at both ends and all their children were born in this house.

the year's 1873 to 1879. Was a slave trader at the Piney
River Station. Slave were bought in New Oleans shipped up the
Mississippi River to the Arkansas River to the Piney River
Station. People can for hundreds of miles to buy a slave for
Richard Paylor and his partner's Mr. Carzort and a Mr.
Zachary.
Buried on the old family farm in Lamar Arkansas
Farm was located west of town form the old Blue Stone Bank
He Taught school at the Presbyterian College near Lamar (now
gone).

Small Pox from thence he marched and joined the army at
Valley - Forge in the State of Pennsylvania he was first

to the 14 th Virginia Regiment Commanded by Col. Davis and

and was in the Battle of Mannoath, marched from there to a
place called the White Plains, marched from there to *** ***

Philadelphia from there to Charles town in South Caroline, He
was in the battle at Charles town South Caroline and was
taken prisoner, he remained a prisoner in the hands of the

their way home to Virginia but, was taken by tories and
carried back to enemy at Charles town and was by them carried
to the West ***, he remained a prisoner until the conclusion
