'Harry D. Gill, Sr, 92, of State College, passed away Monday, January 28, 2013, at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.He was born December 26, 1920, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Harry Clyde and Julia C. Womer Gill. He was married to the former Doris Horner on February 5, 1940, who preceded him in death March 13, 1999. On May 28, 1971, he married the former Barbara Jean Jenvey Gibboney who preceded him in death on May 25, 2002. After graduating from State College Area High School in 1939, he later served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Harry was employed at the State College Post Office, retiring as a Postal Clerk after thirty six years of service. He served as a manager of the Starlite Drive In Theatre State College for twelve years. Harry was a lifetime member of V. F. W. Post 321 and the American Legion both in State College, and the U. S. Postal Union.Surviving Mr. Gill are three daughters Donna G. Reish and husband Samuel of Pine Grove Mills who provided care for Harry for over three years; Catharine G. Pittar, I.C.S.[Indian Civil Service] (retired), and Mrs Pittar of Elmdean, Banbury-road, Oxford.1,5,6,4' She was baptized on 2 September 1900 at Barisal, Bengal, India; and her parents were recorded as Charles William Erskine Pittar and Mabel Francis.4,7 She and Erroll David Schonstadt were engaged; and an announcement of their forthcoming marriage was published in The Times of 2 February 1921.6 As of 4 May 1922, her married name was Schonstadt. Dorothy Mabel Austin Pittar married Erroll David Schonstadt, son of Moritz Henry Schonstadt and Elizabeth Davis, on 4 May 1922 at Singapore, Federated Malay States, Malaya.1,6,5,8 Dorothy Mabel Austin Pittar was also known as Shearn.1 She and Erroll David Schonstadt were recorded as departing with their Son, Martin, from London, England, for Penang, Singapore/Malaysia in 1924.9 Dorothy Mabel Austin Pittar and Erroll David Schonstadt were divorced in 1928.2,10
