Moses (Maurice-Morris) Jonas Drielsma was born on 28 August 1817 at Groningen, Netherlands.4,5,6 He was the son of Izak-Isaac Jonas Drielsma. Moses (Maurice-Morris) Jonas Drielsma appeared on the census of 6 June 1841 at Hanover Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Morris Drielsma, age 20, birthplace Foreign Parts, and he was a Journeyman Watchmaker.7 He married Sarah Jones, daughter of David Jones and Leah Micholls, on 27 August 1845 at 11 Bridge Street, Hereford, Herefordshire, England; through Cheltenham Synagogue. The following announcement appeared in the Liverpool Mercury '...at Hereford, Mr Myer, of that city, [married] to Hannah, sixth daughter of the late Mr David Jones, St John's-hill, Shrewsbury. Also Mr Drielsma, of this town, [married] to Sarah, seventh daughter of the above.4,8,9,10,11,12' Moses (Maurice-Morris) Jonas Drielsma was 'The Liverpool Mercury' of 1 January 1847 carried an advertisement 'saying that M. Drielsma Jun, Chronometer, Watchmaker and Jeweller was moving to new premises at Manifold Building, Elliot Street'

on 1 January 1847.13 He was The Prescot Museum provide the following details of entries in Liverpool Street Directories:

1884 Shop 36 Castle Street (Not listed in 1886 Gores Directory)

between 1848 and 1884.14 He was thought to be a probable maker of an extant English Double Fusee Library Wallclock. Recent sales information dates the item as 'c1850' from 'Drielsma of Liverpool, a listed family of clockmakers operating from Liverpool between 1838 and 1851.. The clock is cased in a glowing solid oak, and incorporates an oak base supported by two shaped brackets with a decorative carving between. Around the original spun brass bezel are arboretum foliage carvings, making an attractive contrast to the fine oak case. Full length brass fret side doors lined with green baize allow the sound of the deep gong strike from the leather tipped gong hammer, striking the hour, to emit from the case. The 12" dial with fine style blued steel hands add a delicate touch to this imposing clock. A slight bow to the solid oak base, comensurate with its age, and signs of a repair to the spun brass bezel at the hinge area are not apparent and in no way detract from the appearance of this fine clock' The '8 day Oak Cased Fusee Hour Strike Wallclock' measures: 'height: 29.5 in. (74.93 cm) width 18.5 in (46.99 cm)'

circa 1850.15 He appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at 15 Clarence Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, (Transcribed as Morris Duitsman) as Head, married, age 33, birthplace Holland, British Subject, and he was a Watch Maker.       Her married name was Gottschalk.3,4 Annie Drielsma was born in 1851 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England; and her birth was registered as Ann Drielsma in the March quarter 1851 at Liverpool Registration district.1,5,6 She was the daughter of Moses (Maurice-Morris) Jonas Drielsma and Sarah Jones.1 Annie Drielsma appeared on the census of 30 March 1851 at 15 Clarence Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, (Transcribed as Ann Duellman) as Daughter, age 1 month, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire.7 She appeared on the census of 7 April 1861 at 7 Falkner Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, (Transcribed as Anne Drielsend) as Daughter, age 10, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire, and she was a Scholar.8 She appeared on the census of 2 April 1871 at 7 Falkner Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Ann Drielsman, Daughter, single, age 20, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire.9

She married Adolph Gottschalk on 15 January 1873 at Seel Street Synagogue, Liverpool, Lancashire, England; and their marriage was registered in the March quarter 1873 at Liverpool Registration district.3,4,5,10 Annie Drielsma appeared on the census of 3 April 1881 at 107 Duke Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Wife, age 30, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire.3 She appeared on the census of 5 April 1891 at 107 Duke Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Wife, age 40, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire and she was an employer and Steam Tug Owner.11 She appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 21a Alfred Street, Liverpool, Lancashire, England, as Wife, age 50, born Liverpool, Lancashire.12

She appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at Green Bank, Magazine Lane, Upper Brighton, Liscard, Cheshire, England, as Wife, age 60, birthplace Liverpool; in 38 years of marriage she had one child born alive who was still living.

A history of 'Greenbank' from Mansions of Wallasey records:

'Rowson Street, Upper Brighton was the site of three adjacent houses, 'Fern Hill', 'Dalmorton House' and 'Olinda'. There was, as it happens, a fourth house on the same side of the road, at the corner of Magazine Lane, and although it did not approach the others in size, it is worth recording if only by virtue of the fact that it had been in existence for over a hundred years. Since 1870, at least, the house had been known as 'Greenbank'.

'In spite of the fact that the building looks like three separate small dwellings in a cottage style character it had only ever been one property. When 'Greenbank' was first built it was for very many years, apart from one other dwelling, the only house on the north side of Magazine Lane for its full length from Rowson Street down to the promenade.

'The earliest traceable resident was John Charles Pooley, son of Henry Pooley, of 'Home Croft' (later the Y.M.C.A), and a partner in the family firm of weighing-manufacturers, Henry Pooley & Sons. He was to be found at 'Greenbank' in 1870, having been married some years previously to a Miss Beatty, but ten years later he had given way to Mr John Gunning, a partner in the firm of Goodlass, Wall & Co., the paint manufacturers, who in turn was succeeded by a Mr. Currie, a Manufacturers' Agent. From then onwards there was a variety of occupants, principally a Mr J.H Simms, a team owner, who spent over ten years there, followed by Mr Adolph Gottschalk, a steam-tug owner, for a similar period.

'By 1934, however, the property appears to have fallen vacant but eventually it became a well-known Dance Studio known as 'Greenbank" and many local people learnt Ballroom Dancing here before daring to try the magnificent sprung floor in the New Brighton Tower Ballroom.

'In 2008 'Greenbank' was demolished to make way for plans of erecting four storey block of flats.13,14

She was recorded as 'Mrs Gottschalk, Magazine Lane, Liskard, Cheshire' by her sister Theresa Geller on 12 August 1911.15

She died on 12 October 1919 at Cheshire, England; and her death was recorded at Wallasey Sub-district, Birkenhead Registration district in the December quarter 1919, at age 68.16,17,18 She was buried at Broadgreen Jewish Cemetery, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.16
