      Louis Francisco Berger was also known as Frank Louis Berger.2 He was born on 19 July 1863 at Liverpool, Lancashire, England; and his birth was recorded and indexed as Frank Lewis Berger at West Derby Registration district in the September quarter 1863.3,4,5 He was married to his first wife and their marriage was recorded and indexed as Francisco Luigi Berger and Elizabeth Rosa Braham at Mile End Registration district in the March quarter 1885. They had six children in 1885 at London, England.6,7,8 He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at 42 St Peters Road, Leicester, Leicestershire, England, as Head, married, age 37, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire and he was a Wholesale Clothing Manufacturer and employer. His first wife Elizabeth, five children, a general servant and 'nurse (sick)' completed the household.8 He appeared on the census of 2 April 1911 at 14 Petherton Road, Canonbury, London, England, as Head, widowed, age 47, birthplace Liverpool, Lancashire, and he was a Manager at a Wholesale Clothiers and an employer. Two sons, two daughters, housekeeper, servant, and seven boarders completed the household.3 He married Abigail Elias, daughter of Charles Elias and Sophia Woolf, in September 1919 at Devon, England; and their marriage was recorded and indexed as Aida Elias and Frank L Berger at Newton Abbott Registration district in the September quarter 1919.1 Louis Francisco Berger and Abigail Elias had an announcement published in The Jewish Chronicle reading 'Marriages. Berger, Elias._At Newton Abbot, Frank L Berger, of Belsize Lodge, Garlinge-road, Brondesbry, N.W., to Aida, daguther of Mrs and the late Charles Elias, of Hampstead'. on 12 September 1919.9 Louis Francisco Berger and Abigail Elias of 55 Gloucester Terrace, London, W.2., left London sailing aboard the Highland Princess bound for Las Palmas, Spain on 1 August 1936.10 Louis Francisco Berger and Abigail Elias lived on 29 September 1939 at Rolle Cottage, Oakfield Road, Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England; where they were on the 1939 Register as Aida and Frank L Berger, Manufacturer Men's Clothing (Retired).11 Louis Francisco Berger died on 3 March 1941 at England at age 77; and the Commonwealth War Graves Commission provide the following information:

MV Port Townsville's Captain was T Kippins, and the vessel was 'Bombed in Bristol Channel while en-route for Melbourne travelling independently. Two lives lost.1,12' He was the subject of an obituary when the following notice was published 'Berger, Frank Louis and Aida, of 9 Craven-hill, W.2, and Bourne End, Bucks, at sea by enemy action. Prayers at 106 Queen'sgate, S.W.7, Sunday, March 16, 4 pm' before 16 March 1941.13 His estate was probated on 9 September 1941; and the National Probate Calendar for 1941 records he was 'Frank Louis Berger of 9 Craven-hill Paddington London who died at sea' and 'Administration (with Will) (limited)' was granted at Llandudno to 'John Diamond chartered accountant and Myra Rainbird (wife of William Rainbird) attonrneys of Joseph Archibald Berger.14'
