Point of Interest: The 1734 census tells us that there were 199 persons living at Port Toulouse at the time the census was taken: 34 Heads of Family, 27 Spouses, 120 children, 7 Domestics and/or Servants and 11 Sailors, Fisherman and/or Shore Workers. This represents a decrease of 24 families and 135 persons since the census of 1726.
