General Notes: Husband - Kenneth Mabry Phillips
Kenneth Mabry Phillips, 79, of Rogers went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 25, 2011, peacefully as he slept. Born May 16, 1931 in Comanche, TX, he moved to Arkansas at the early age of 7.
Kenneth was an entrepreneur all his life with experience in grocery, restaurant, construction industries, and many other endeavors. Kenneth was a family man first and foremost, spending 59 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Verna, and nurturing a large loving family. He was known for his sense of humor and his love for his grandchildren, who knew him as Po-Po.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Golda Phillips, and three brothers, Doyle, Harlon, and Odell.
Survivors include his wife, Verna, of the home; two daughters, Kennita Rakes and her husband Alan and Kendra Adkins and her husband Barry; two sons, Bradley Phillips and partner Lee Lanzoni and Eric Phillips and his wife Danielle; six grandchildren, Chad Wilson, Alana Adkins and husband Jim, Jennifer Grimes and husband Craig, Chasity Little and husband Patrick, Mallory Phillips, and Jeremiah Phillips; and 11 great grandchildren.
Services for Kenneth will be 10am Friday, April 1, 2011 at Lowell First Baptist Church with visitation the night before, from 6-8 pm at Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Burial will be at Cave Springs Cemetery.

in the 1920 census and Ray Phillips comment that Judy Benn made they had
lived in Del Rio, TX when she was a little girl I have changed sequence of
Birdie?s birth to the youngest of Ethel?s daughters.
In Jan. 1971 at time of her fathers death she is shown in his
obituary as Maxine Hanpah of San Antonio, TX.

MILTON PHILLIPS
Milton PHILLIPS, soldier and pioneer, was born 17 Oct. 1816 in TN. He lived
in Lawrence Co., TN until about 1825 when his father, John "Jack" PHILLIPS,
moved his family to Lauderdale Co., AL. He was one of twelve children and was
the oldest son. In 1836 Milton enlisted in Boston's Company of the 23rd Mounted
Volunteers and was a Sgt. during the Creek Indian War. Milton married Mariah
STONE and their first child was born 15 Sep 1838. The 1850 Census of Lauderdale
Co., AL showed Milton, Mariah, and four children (John, 12; Milton, 7; Lucinda,
5; and Sarah 3)living in the Center Star, AL area near several other PHILLIPS
families and near his father, brothers, and sisters. Between 1850 and 1860
Milton decided to move Johnson Co., Arkansas. Some family members believed he
chose this area because of Peter ALLEN who some think was his uncle. Mariah
later urged Milton to move to a higher altitude because she thought it would be
healthier for her family. They moved to Washington Co., AR, nine miles west of
Springdale, in the Elm Springs Community. Their oldest son, John, remained in
Johnson Co., AR and raised a large famliy and descendants still live there
today. Milton and Mariah, raised a large family and were well repected. They
died and were buried in the Elm Springs Cemetery.
