He was inducted into the military at Lincoln Co., North Carolina, on 6 July 1862. He married Rachel Eugene Chronister. Monroe died on 14 May 1925 at Stanley, Gaston Co., North Carolina, at age 82. His body was interred in May 1925 at Stanley, Gaston Co., North Carolina, at Christ Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Dellinger, Gettysburg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Dellinger, Red Lion, were united in marriage Thursday evening at 6:45 o'clock in Grace Lutheran church, Westminster. Rev. J. Hess Belt, pastor, performed the ring ceremony. They were unattended.

The couple returned to Gettysburg on Sunday after a trip to the South over the Skyline drive. They will reside at the bride's home. Dr. Dellinger is a foreman at the Gettysburg Furniture company plant. His bride is bookkeeper at the Strausbaugh planing mill in Gettsyburg." Monroe J. Dellinger married Mindelle K. Weikert. Monroe J. Dellinger, 81, of 55 W. Middle St., Gettysburg, formerly of Red Lion, died Sunday morning at Michael Manor Nursing Home, Gettysburg.

He was the husband of Mindelle K. Weikert Dellinger..

Mr. Dellinger was employed by Gettysburg and Reaser Furniture companies as a finishing superintendent. He retired in 1980 as a finishing technician for Gilbert Spruance Co., Philadelphia.

He was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons Good Samaritan Lodge 336, Gettysburg Comandery 79, Good Samaritan Royal Arch Chapter 226, and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and Zembo Temple, both of Harrisburg.

He was born in Red Lion and was a son of the late Michael G. and Elizabeth Gladfelter Dellinger.

Survivors include:

A sister - Mrs. Harry Keiser, Jersey Shore.

Viewing will be 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. E. Edward Keyser, pastor of St. James Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Adams County Public Library, Hight Street, Gettysburg, Pa. 17325."
