George Foord Cassingham was born 19 Apr 1812 in Kent, England. He is the son of Thomas Cassingham (Sr.) and Phoebe Ford. He was christened in Bilsington, Kent, England on 21 June 1812. He came to America with his family in 1818, when he was 6 years old, settling in Muskingum County, Ohio. Upon his marriage, in 1833, he and his bride established their residence in Coshocton, Ohio where he spent the remainder of his days. He died 14 Mar 1889 - one month short of his 77th birthday - in Coshocton County, Ohio and was buried 17 Mar 1889 in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tuscarawas, Coshocton, Ohio. On 23 May 1833, he married Elizabeth Wilson in Muskingum County, Ohio. Elizabeth was born 6 Oct 1814 in Huntington County, Pennsylvania. Her father was Robert Wilson. She died 14 Mar 1899 -- (on the 10 year anniversary of her husband's death!) -- at age 84 at the home of her daughter, Sarah, in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. She was buried 16 Mar 1899 in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tuscarawas, Coshocton, Ohio. Children of George Foord Cassingham and Elizabeth Wilson:
NotesIs is possible (perhaps even probable) that George's middle name is actually "Ford" -- his mother's maiden name. But the only record I have that lists his middle name (his christening record) gives the middle name as Foord. So I show it in that form. SourcesGeorge:
Elizabeth:
