Deloris' North Carolina Roots

Welcome to My North Carolina Roots!

A number of years ago, I started out researching my ancestors who lived in Warren County, North Carolina. It turned out that was only the tip of the iceberg since research has shown me that they came from other places, too. We are a multicultural family whose ancestors centered around North Carolina at some point in time. I've found them to be a vast and very diverse group that came from different races and from different status in life, some were rich and some were poor, some were famous and some may never be known to anyone except their own families, some were slaves who never knew freedom, and some were born free during slavery times. My roots have led me to many of the other North Carolina Counties including Halifax, Granville, Vance, Franklin, Wake, Orange, Person, Nash, Edgecombe, Caswell, Chatham, Durham, Randolph and Cherokee. The families I am researching include Alston, Carter, Caudle/Cordle/Cordell, Coleman, Copeland, Davis, Evans, Green, Hardy, Harvel/Harvey/ Harwell, Hawkins, Hedgepeth, Henderson, Lee, Lynch, Manley, Mills, Newell, Pettiford, Powell, Read/Reed, Richardson, Rodgers, Rudd, Scott, Silver, Sneed, Toney, West, Williams and many, many others with intermarriage connections. Come follow me on my journey through time and take a look at the tree I've created, you may find one of your own ancestors, too.

Please note that I will be adding more material for each of the above named families to this website, so check back from time to time.
