The Moren family owned Advance Coal Company, which purchased this boat in 1882, and named her ADVANCE.  This boat worked for Advance Coal Company until sinking in December 1898.  During repairs in 1899 she was struck by lighting and burned.  Descendants of John Moren have identified him as being the man wearing the jacket on the main deck.
