Ben Tolbert
Ben Tolbert, 75, of East Beckley, died this morning, burial in Sunset. Benjamin Franklin Tolbert was born in Carroll County, VA. March 101, 1856, came to West Virginia shortly before 1900. Priot to consolodation of Atkinsville and Beckley in 1908 he was mayor of Atkinsville. In 1919 he was a member of Beckley City Council. Survived by wife, Laura, one son Mack Tolbert of Dugspur, VA., and four daughters, Mrs. Daisy Painter of Fayetteville being one of them. One brother, James Tolbert of Crab Orchard. (Other daughters not listed)
