The most important document (#10) was The Last Will and
Testament of Henry Bonner dated July, 7 1766, which mentions
Wife: Elizabeth and Children: Thomas (Our Thomas B. 1744),
William, Henry, and Richard. These documents were retrieved by
Ken Bonner and Bill Harvey."
A land deed (#11) from Henry Bonner to his brother Thomas (Not
Thomas b. 1744), dated April 18, 1745.
Land Petition (#9) for Henry Bonner, dated August, 4, 1722.
Judy Cardwell has transcribed many of the BONNER wills and
documents in Chowan Co NC as well as VA and PA.
17 Jul 1766 - Chowan Co.,NC - North Carolina,"Bonner to Bonner"
"Know all men by these Present that I Henry Bonner of Chowan
County & Province aforesaid Gent. In consideration of the love
and Natural Regard which I owe & bear unto my Dearly Beloved
Wife Elizabeth Bonner also for the Same love Esteem and paternal
Affection and Regard which I owe and Bear unto my Dear beloved
Children (Namely Thomas Bonner William Bonner Henry Bonner
Richard Bonner And also for other desire good Cause and
Consideration me hereunto Especially moving Have Given Granted
and Confirmed, And by these presents Doth Give Grant unto the
said Elizabeth, Thos. William, Henry and Richard Bonner all and
Singular the lands, Hereditatments Improvements, Negroes, Goods
Chattles and Implements In- manner and form as Shall be here
after Nominated & expressed That is to say, I give Grant and
Confirm unto my aforesaid Loveing Wife During her Natural Life
or Widowhood the following Negroe, Viz: Grace, Patt & Soloman,
also a Roan Mare called Starr, One of my Best Beds and
furniture, One Suare Table Two- Cows and Calves Two Ewes & Lambs
One large Pott of Iron Two large Pewter Dishes and Six best
pewter Plates, all the Earthen Chainey Ware and Earthen Do in
like manner the Bofatts and Lastly the use of my Dwelling
Plantation (That is to say the one half being with the One half
of the Dwelling house During her widowhood - Now I also Give
unto my well- Beloved Son Thomas Bonner, and his and the Heirs
of his Body Lawfully Begotten of his Body for Ever the Onehalf
of my - Dwelling Plantation, Immediately to commence unto the
same after my Decease - and the rest and all thereof after my
Wifes aforesaid for Ever Excepting Seventy Acres Lying on Deep
Rum, Known by the Name of old Toms, which I give as aforesaid
unto my son Richard I Give Grant and Confirm as afore said unto
my son William my Plantation in Green Hall Excepting what Lieth
beyond Maple Branch toward Riichard Hoskins, Beginning at the
three Pines and running a strait line to the Maple Branch,
Thence running up the Maple Branch to the Head. Thence about N.
N. E. course to Nathan- iel Howcotts Line. Which I give as
aforesaid to my son Richard his heirs and Assigns for Ever I
Give as aforesaid to my well beloved Son Henry Bonner his Heirs
and Assigns for Ever my Plantation On the Deep run Swamp - I
also give as aforesd. unto my Dearly Beloved Son Thomas Bonner
my Gray mare Running in Green hall, also as aforesaid unto my
Son William my Bay Horse known by the name of the Indian, I also
Give & Grant as aforesaid unto my son Willam all & singular- my
Nursery at the end of Barn of apple Trees is to be devided
immediately after my Decease of Demanded or when so ever- -
Demand, by him the said William Bonner or my Trustee hereafter
Mentioned unto him the said William Bonner or - Assigns - also a
large Box Iron To my wife, and I the said Henry Bonner all &
singular the Goods Chattles personal Estates and the other Real
and Implements and the other the premises I the Said Henry
Bonner all and singular the Real Estate personal and all the
other Implements and premises to the afore said, as mentioned to
their heirs Er. admn. and assigns and all other Person's
Whatsoever Shall of and of all ther person or persons from hence
forth Shall Warrent for Ever Defend by these presents of all and
Singular Real Estate Good Chattles Implements, and the other the
premises whose for I the said Henry Bonnner have put into each
and every of their Hands, as full possession after my Decease
this now in the ensealing & Delivery of these presents. In the
name of the whole Granted, Promised, I have hereunto set my hand
affixed my Seal this Seventh day of July 1766.

Ca 1766. - The petition of Thomas Bonner of age, William, Henry
& Richard Bonner minors by Thomas Bonner their next friend.
They stated that Henry Bonner dec'd of Chowan Co. died with
considerable personal estate, that he left will dated 7 Jul
1766 in Chowan directing his personal estate to his 4 children
the sd petitioners, but he appointefd kno excr, that the court
appinted widow Elizabth Bonner admrs of sd Henry, that sd
Elizabeth has rendered no account of the estate, that she says
the will is not legal nor does she wish to make distribution,
that sd Henry had deeded her ample.
1767 - Summons to Chowan Co to Elizabeth Bonner admrx of Henry
Bonner to answer Edenton Dist Ct the petition Henry Bonner &
Richard Bonner against her.
1768 - Order to Chowan Co to attach the property of William
Robert & his wife Eliza admrx of Henry Bonner dec'd in favor of
Thomas Bonner.
