In 1850, he was living in Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his parents Peter and Hannah Boyer, and sister Catharine Boyer. [source: 7]

In 1852/55, he married Frederica Long. She was born on 27 August 1820, in Pennsylvania. They have five known children:

After the war

In 1870, he was living in Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Frederica, children Daniel, Levi, and Amanda, and with William Eckert. He was a farm laborer, and owned $400 in real estate. [source: 9]

In 1880, he was living in Frederick Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Frederica, daughter Amanda, daughter Maria Kulp, and Maria's son Edward. He was a farmer. [source: 10]

In 1890, he was living in Frederick, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (post office Perkiomenville). [source: 3]

On 21 March 1890, he successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension. [sources: 4, 5]

In 1900, he was living in Milford, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Frederica, children Levi, Daniel, and Mary, and others. He was a farm laborer. [source: 11]

He again applied for a pension on 28 March 1907. [source: 4]

In 1910, he was living on Ridge Valley Road, in Richland Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Frederica, daughter Mary, and two grandchildren. He was a laborer, and had been out of work for fifteen weeks in the previous year. [source: 12]

On 8 February 1911, his wife, Fredericka Long, died. She was buried in the Ridge Valley Cemetery, Sellersville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. [source: 16]
