Richard Beeson

New Garden MeetingRichard Beeson and his wife, Charity Grubb (b. 9th Mo. 29, 1687 in Brandywine, New Castle, Del/PA d. 11th Mo., 27, 1761 in Guilford Co., NC) were very well-known and active members (and missionaries) of the Quaker church. Charity Grubb was the dtr. of John and Frances (Vane) Grubb. Richard and Charity helped form Hopewell Meeting in Virginia and were among the earliest members of New Garden Meeting in Guilford Co., NC. They both remained in Guilford Co. until their deaths.

 

Richard Beeson and Charity Grubb had the following children:

  3. Charity Beeson b. 1715 d. 20 Sep 1809 m. Mordecai Mendenhall son of John and Susannah (Pierson) Mendenhall at Leacock Meeting

  4. Phebe Beeson m. John Harris, son of William Harris at E. Nottingham Mtg., PA

  5. Edward Beeson d. 1746 m. Martha (poss. Martha Mendenhall dtr of John and Susannah (Pierson) Mendenhall

  6. Benjamin Beeson d. 14 Jun 1794 m. Elizabeth Hunter (prob. dtr of John and Margaret (Albin) Hunter)

  7. William Beeson b. 30 Jan 1721/22 W. Nottingham, Chester Co., PA d. 18 Dec 1760 m. Mary Mills dtr of John Mills

  8. Rachel Beeson b. 1724 d. 19 Mar 1775 m. (1st) Stephanas Haworth, son of George and Sarah (Scarborough) Haworth, (2nd) Anthony Chamness son of John and Ann Chamness at New Garden Mtg, NC

  9. Isaac Beeson b. 3 Feb 1728/29 d. 1802 m. Phebe Stroud dtr of Samuel and Ann Stroud
