Jim served in the Civil War in Sibley's Brigade. He was in the 4th Regiment - Texas Mounted Volunteers muster with along with Sam R. Windham. In Howard County, Daphne Windham applied for Confederate Pension (App. # 15623) for James Lodric Windham (App. # 05523).
