     George W. Millslagel was born on 28 March 1858 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.2,3,1,4,5 He was the son of Jacob Milslagle and Jane Edmiston.5,1,6 His death certificate gives a birth place of Dayton but all of his census records give a birthplace of Illinois. His name has also been given as Milslagle. George, age 1 year, was enumerated in the household of suspected aunt, Cathrine, and uncle, George Willard, on the 1860 Federal Census for the Canton Post Office in Buckheart Township, Fulton County, Illinois.           George married Anna Belle Jacques, daughter of James Jacques and Kathryn Baronby, on 12 August 1877 in Schuyler County, Illinois.9,10 He was 19 years old; she was 16 years old. George and Anna had six children. I only know the names of four. These children are Jessie, Paul H., Hildreth and Kathryn Viola.11
          George, age 66, and Anna, age 59, were enumerated on the 1920 Federal Census in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household was their grandson, Fred Phillip, age 22.           George, age 73, and Anna, age 68, were enumerated on the 1930 Federal Census at 211 Cunningham Avenue in Peoria. Also enumerated in this household were their grandson, Fred Phillip (age 32), and great-granddaughter, Shirley J. Phillip (age 6).           George died on 11 February 1932 at his home at 511 Callender in Peoria.14 He was 73 years old.1 The cause of death was given as Hypooctatic congestion (which began Feb. 9). Contributory factors were cerebral hemorrhage and chronic int. nephritis.1 He was buried in Parkview Memorial Park in Peoria.1 Follow the link to see the death certificate. George W. Click to view text He and Anna were buried in Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Peoria.15 He is the 2nd great-grandson of Johann Andreas Mühlschlägel, original immigrant.
