The Genealogy of the Millslagle Family

     Emily Stone was born circa 1845 in Illinois.¹ Emily married Isaac Newton Milslagle, son of Samuel Millslagle and Joanna Glaize. Emily and Isaac had five children. I have eight children listed so a couple of these children are the same people. These children are Rowena, Iota, Amanda Jane, Nellie, Albert, Carrie, Jodie and Irene.
          Isaac, age 36, and Emily, age 29, were enumerated on the 1870 Federal Census in Township 18 Range 5 West (Tallula Post Office), Menard County, Illinois. Also enumerated in this household were their children, Irene (age 4) and Amanda (age 1). Isaac's personal estate was valued at $500. He does not appear to own real estate.² Follow the link to see the census image.
          Isaac, age 44, and Emily, age 35, were enumerated on the 1880 Federal Census in Pueblo County, Colorado. Also enumerated in this household were their four children: Amanda (age 13), Roena (age 10), Carrie (age 8) and Jodie (age 4).³ Follow the link to see the census image.
          Isaac died before 24 August 1902, leaving Emily a widow.^4,5 Emily applied for a widow's military pension on 24 August 1902. She applied from the state of Colorado and was granted certificate # 561280.⁶
          Emily, age 66, was enumerated in the household of her son, Newton Milslagle, on the 1910 Federal Census in Precinct 2, Pueblo County, Colorado. One of her daughters, Rowena, and her son Newton, are also living in this household. Follow the link to see the census image.
