I can remember when Teddy died and Grandad came from Farnham Hospital to tell my Mum, I used to play with him, Grandad was crying and he was wiping his tears with a red spotty handkerchief. Its surprising how memories stay with you. |

Narrative
Memories of Frimley Green, Old Cottage
Memories of Bedford Lane.
..........This cottage is in Bedford Lane. I lived in the house called "Connemara" which is still in Bedford Lane. My father Samuel Frederick Richardson and his brother George were both bricklayers.
..........Both were demolishing the cottage and they were burning the thatch. My brother John was playing dare. He walked through the outer edge of the white ash and dared me to walk through the middle. Unfortunately I did and was very badly burned.
..........Mother rushed round all the houses, collecting tea leaves to put on my legs. In those days people didn't empty their pots every brew. They just topped them up with a little more tea and hot water. To this day, I do not know where Mother got the idea of the tea leaves. It certainly worked. Just a few little scars and they are hard to find.
..........After demolishing the cottage, they built a red brick pair of houses. A Mr Fairminer lived in the first of the pair. I went to school in Frimley Green with his son.

Narrative
.....The Thomas Benjamin name comes from the IGI christening. This is a submitted entry rather than one extracted from the parish registers, so there's probably no way of checking it. (from Dave Campbell)
.....I had a thought and checked my mother (Lilian Rose Fairminer) birth and marriage certificates and both state father as Thomas Fairminer. No Benjamin. That gives us 5 documents, and most people give their full name on official documents, he might forget on one but 5 ? (includes Thomas Birth death registration plus his marriage certificate). - Les Treneman 2009
Narrative
Granddad used to visit his Sister Mary in Farnham , [Bessie] she used to make every one laugh and I loved her right up until she died.
(from Daphne Munro nee Wade) - Book 1a / E-mails / 10 / page 2a
Great Aunt Mary who lived in Farnham, Grandads sister, was alive late 40s early 50s. When my sister Pam and I used to visit Aunty Bess for the week-end, Grandad used to go and visit his sister Mary. (Mrs Wells) we never met her. - (from Daphne Munro nee Wade) by E-mail 04.09.2011 - Book 6a / 10 / page.3
