they baptised 7 children between 1772 and 1779 when Anthony died
Anthony Collins was, Ashley believes, the eldest son of another Anthony Collins who probably married Sarah Tooley in 1716. They also had another son John who married Ann and that couple baptised a son Anthony on 22 June 1750. It is this Anthony, I believe, who married Mary Staley in 1771. In this scenario it would mean that the Thomas and Anthony Collins referred to above were first cousins.

From Ashley also thereas John Staley born on 12 January 1754 and
baptised on 20 June 1754 and another Hannah baptised on 23 July 1755. So it
becomes clear that the Mary Collins who married Thomas Collins was formerly
Mary Staley who was the brother of John Staley who married Elizabeth
Lankshear in 1777. The witnesses to their marriage were most probably John
Staley’s brother in law Anthony Collins (m. Mary Staley) and Elizabeth
Lankshear’s brother in law Thomas Collins (m. Mary Lankshear). This also
indicates that the Staley family came originally from Aston Le Walls and
that they must have moved to the Witney area sometime between 1755 and 1760.
From earlier email exchanges John Staley obviously moved back to the area of
his birth together with his wife Elizabeth.
The witnesses at 1789 marriage would appear to be children of this couple
baptisms found by Ashley Thomas Staley and Eleanor living in Curbridge

Clearly they were close to the Staley family in Aston Le Walls
