"In the book "CHEROKEE BY BLOOD" Page 423 We find the following
statement by Fred J. Hackett. "My wife, Agnes Hackett, nee
GOODWIN, was born in 1857 in GA and died in 1904 in Indian
Territory. Her mother, Emeline GOODWIN, nee YEARGIN, was born in
1832 in GA and died in 1884 in the Indian Territory. My wife,
Agnes, came to the Indian Territory in 1871 with her mother,
Emeline GOODWIN. She made application in 1871, but was rejected
for not being on an earlier roll. They found she was Cherokee by
blood. My wife, Agnes, got her Indian blood from her mother's
mother, Martha Yergin, nee CRUMP. Martha's father, ROBERT CRUMP,
kept her hid in the bushes in order to keep the people from
bringing her out West with the Indians. Martha never came to the
Territory. Martha's mother was, AGNES TYNER CRUMP and her mother
was. SOOKIE TYNER nee DOUGHERTY."
