Jacob was born at
Hellam Twp., York Co., Pennsylvania, on 6 July 1751. He was the son of
Johann "Jacob" Dellinger and
Maria Barbara Gossner. Jacob Dellinger was Jacob was a farmer.

York Co., Pennsylvania; Jacob served in the Revolutionary War in Captain Jacob Biester's Company of the Fifth Battalion alongside his brother, John, in 1776.
