Marie Scott Burdette is the daughter of James Lake Burdette and Carrie Ruth Foster. She was born 5 February 1912 in Monroe county, West Virginia. She died 14 September 1988 at age 76 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. She is buried at New Lebanon Cemetery, Pickaway, Monroe, West Virginia.

On 9 February 1934, at age 22, she married Bayard Campbell McClary, who was age 22, in Alderson, Monroe, West Virginia. He is the son of Horace Frederick McClary and Elzia Osie Weikle. He was born 28 August 1911 in Monroe county, West Virginia. He died in November 1980 at age 69 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He is buried at New Lebanon Cemetery, Pickaway, Monroe, West Virginia.

1. Shelba Jean McClary was born in 1940 in West Virginia. She is known as Jean.
   • On 11 April 1964, at age 23, she married Percy Garland Collier (Jr.), who was age 30, at the Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia. He is the son of Percy Garland Collier (Sr.). He was born 31 December 1933 in Richmond, Virginia. He died 14 January 1996 at age 62.
