PRICE INTRODUCTION

Currently our first known ancestor is Johan Heinrich Preisch (1). Our line then goes David (2), Johan Heinrich (Henry)(3), Adam (4), Adam Clark (5), Adam Clark Jr.(6). The spelling of the surname has changed through the years. Some of the variants I found in the records are Preis, Preiss, Preuss, Preus, Preinz, Prenz, and Preisch. I use the Anglicized "Price" starting with the first generation born in the United States.

I did not find this information on my own. I am especially indebted to the Price Cousins Group (PCG) as we dubbed ourselves. We corresponded in an attempt to work out the snarled strands of descendants of the four immigrant Preisch brothers while they lived in Virginia. Other members of the PCG were Roger Peterson, Joan Lawson, Ruth Middleton, and Barbara Pemberton.
