Two emails from H. E. Shipe in 1998:
#1
Have you ever run across Earl Homer McDaid that married Amanda (Mae) Sprowls on February 1, 1905 in Belmont County, Ohio? Trying to find something further on McDaid. Amanda (Mae) Sprowls was my grandfather's youngest sister.
#2
Your Homer E McDaid and our Earl Homer McDaid may be the same. You may be right - he may have married Amanda (Mae) Sprowls Feb 1, 1905 and then married Mary Lamberson on Dec 25, 1909. Amanda had some health condition from the beginning (on 1880 census at 2 years old she was listed as "maimed, crippled, bedridden, or disabled"). Perhaps she died between 1905 and 1909. We don't know. Several of her siblings died young. Earl Homer McDaid's parents were Samuel S McDaid and Mary E Wolfe McDaid. Looks like a possible connection.
