Albert Klump was born August 31, 1866 on the Klump farm near New Ulm, Texas. He was the ninth child born to August and Anna Klump. He was baptized June 9, 1868 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in New Ulm. We dont know much about his childhood and schooling, but as would have been normal, he probably didnt receive many years of formal education. It would have been much more important for him to work on the farm. He and the Klump family lived on their 220 acre farm until 1883, when August relinquished title to the property to his oldest son William. They then moved to near Greenvine in Washington County.
It was in Washington County that at the age of 23 he married Minnie Marie Bartels. Minnie was the daughter of John and Mary Bartels. They made their home in the Klump Community in Washington County. They had ten children, eight of which were born in Washington County. Sometime around 1908-1909 Albert moved his family away from the Klump Community to Rosebud in Falls County, Texas. This is where his last two children were born. Albert and Minnie spent the rest of their lives in Rosebud. Minnie died February 11, 1931. Albert died May 30, 1940.
