  • On 5 September 1832 Francis Brewer of Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, filed a request for a pension based upon his service during the Revolutionary War. He gives his age as 67 years, and that he served with the state troops of Massachusetts under Col. Jonathan Brewer, Lieut. Col. Buckminster, and Captain Haynes. He was an attendant of his father, Col. Jonathan Brewer, in the 7th Regt. Infantry, in the month of May 1775. He was with his father's regiment when the British evacuated Boston in 1776, and was with the regiment when it went to New York, was present at the Battle of Long Island and afterwards the Battle of White Plains. In November 1776 he left the army on a furlough. He served in the army for a period of one year and eight months and at the time resided at Waltham, Massachusetts. States that he was born, 26 May 1765 at Framingham, Mass., lived at Waltham, Mass. when called into service; lived at Woodstock, Vermont for 15 years, and has resided at Brainstrim, Pennsylvania for about 25 years.8
  • He died on 29 April 1833 Meshoppen Twp., Wyoming Co., Pennsylvania.9
  • He was buried Old Mowrey Cemetery, Meshoppen, Wyoming Co., Pennsylvania.9
