OBIT - "William Conover, one of the best known and most highly respected residents of this village, died at his home on Maple avenue Monday evening, Oct. 29th, the eighty-second anniversary of his birth. Mr. Conover was born in the west part of this town when it was almost a wilderness; **his father emigrated from one of the eastern states before canals and railroads were dreamed of. The family consisted of five boys and five girls, and as soon as they grew up they purchased a small farm two miles from this village, and by industry and frugality they were enabled to add to this from time to time until they became the most extensive land owners in the town. They were remarkable for their fidelity to and affection for each other.**
