CHARLOTTE ALICE KIRCHNER was born March 15, 1907 in Portland, OR to JOHN KIRCHNER and LUCY MAPES. She passed away on July 17, 1986 in La Plata, MD. Charlote was named after her grandmother, Charlotte LENZ.

She married Arnold Edward BARTELT December 15, 1933 at her home in Nichols, IA, son of ERIC BARTELT and ELSA HEISE.

Charlotte was a devoted Catholic, very strong willed, intelligent, and a great conversationalist. She worked as a book-keeper and secretary and also wrote various columns which appeared in the local paper. Her greatest joys were decorating and the dogs which she trained. She grew up in Nichols, IA but lived most of her life in Des Moines, IA.

Charlotte was Buried in St. Mary's Cemetary, Muscatine, IA with her husband Arnold.
