FOUR COMMUNITY - Nellie Two Bulls, 81, of No. Four Community, passed away on February 18, 2007, at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City. She was born on January 25, 1926, to George Whitehorse and Susan Blacksheep. She was raised by her grandmother, Bessie (White Rabbit) Whitehorse. Nellie was the last and eldest descendent of Chief Man Afraid of Horse. She is survived by her daughters: Melvina (Louis) Winters of Pine Ridge, SD, Cheryl (Wilbur) Between Lodges and Linda (Rick Red Eagle) Two Bulls, both of No. Four Community. Adopted daughter, Henny Whalen of Pine Ridge, SD. Grandchildren raised by Matt and Nellie: Lynette (Phillip Whiteman, Jr.) Two Bulls of Lame Deer, SD; George Cuny and Autumn Conroy, both of No. Four Community. A sister, Gladys Two Bulls of No. Four Community, Brother-in-law, Ed (Lovey) Two Bulls of Red Shirt Table, SD; sister-in-law, Marianne High Crow of Rapid City. 34 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild and many adopted daughters, sons, grandchildren and extended family whom were all very important to her. She had a great love of people; everyone knew her as "Grandma Nellie." She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, Matthew Two Bulls, her sons: Sylvester M. "Suba" Two Bulls, Zackery W. "Zach" Two Bulls and Enoch Two Bulls. Daughter, Doreen "Dora" Two Bulls and grandson that she and Matt raised, Tom Cuny. A two-night wake begins on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at 4:00 p.m. at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge. Funeral Services will be on Friday, February 23, 2007, at 10:00 a.m. at Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge with Pastor Charles O'Hare and Rev. Robert Two Bulls officiating. Traditional Lakota Services offered by Mr. Wilmer Mesteth and Mr. Richard Broken Nose. Interment will follow at the Afraid of His Horses Cemetery, No. Four Community, SD. Sioux Funeral Home in Pine Ridge is in charge of arrangements. Published in the Rapid City Journal on 2/21/2007.
