Ruth Evelyn Scott is the daughter of
Pascal P Scott and Henrietta Hartman.
She was born 12 July 1920 in Sinks Grove, Monroe, West Virginia.
She died 8 February 2009 at age 88 at her daughter's home in Melbourne, Brevard, Florida.
She was buried 13 February 2009 at Ranger United Methodist Church Cemetery, Murphy, North Carolina.
She was about age 25 when about 1946 she married Irving Thomas Black,
who was about age 24. He was born in 1921.
