Their children William F. and Sarah were listed as living with them, as was Joseph's daughter Martha J.⁴ (Joseph was listed as Geo. E. Gillaland in the census record but I'm pretty sure that I've got the right one. He's also on the page just before John Gilliland. It's a good possibility that they were brothers.)
