     Cletus was born at Bittersville, York Co., Pennsylvania, on 14 April 1906. He was the son of William Henry Dellinger and Gertrude Sophia Hersey. He married Edna Marie Ross. Cletus died on 3 March 1986 at Stewartstown, York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 79. He was New Tag Obituary from the Wednesday 5 March 1986 York Dispatch:

"Cletus H. Dellinger

STEWARTSTOWN - Cletus H. Dellinger, 79, of 13 Ovelton Ave., died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. Ross Dellinger, Stewartstown, RD 1.

He was the husband of Edna M. Ross Dellinger.

Mr. Dellinger was born in Bittersville, the son of the late Harry and Gertrude Hersey Dellinger.

He was president of Dellinger Oil Service, Inc. until its sale to Shipley-Humble of York about 15 years ago. He was a member of Stewartstown United Methodist Church and a long time trustee.

He had served on the Stewartstown Borough Council for 12 years and was the Republican committeeman for the borough for many years.

Affiliated with Masonry, he was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 423, of Harrisburg Consistory, of Red Lion Scottish Rite Club, of Zembo Shrine and of York County Shrine Club.

Survivors include:

Two grandsons.

Three brothers - Kenneth Dellinger, Fallbrook, Calif; Emory Dellinger, Stewartstown RD 1; and Walter Dellinger, Stewartstown.

Four sisters - Hazel Bartenslager, Red Lion; Erma Wilson, New Park; Dorothy Paxton, Stewartstown; and Floris Saltzgiver, York.

Viewing will be noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Stewartstown United Methodist Church, South Main Street.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at the church. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. G. Edwin Zeiders.

Burial will be private. Masonic rites will be conducted by Lodge 423.

Memorial contributions may be made to the C.H. Dellinger Foundation, P.O. Box 204, Stewartstown, Pa. 17363.

FOLLOWING STROKE

Dallastown, Nov. 8 - Clinton F. Dellinger, retired farmer, died at 4:45 o'clock this morning at his home on Franklin street extended, this place. Death resulted from the effects of a stroke of apoplexy suffered nine days ago. He was aged 77 years and nine months. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ellen Dellinger; three sons, George, McKinley and Theodore, all of this place; three daughters, Mrs. Nettie Bupp, York Manor; Mrs. Mazie Ness, York; and Mrs. Lottie Hess, HIarelys: two step-children, Mrs. Rosie Raffenberger, York township; and James Rohrbaugh; two broters, W.L. Dellinger, Lancaster; Franklin Dellinger, York; and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Boyer, Emigsville; Mrs. Laura Boyer and Mrs. Lillie Markel, York. The funeral will be held Sunday with services at the house at 2 p.m. Rev. S.L. Hench, pastor of the Christ Lutheran church, this place, will officiate. Interment will be made in Union cemetery, here. Funeral Director Purd A. Riedel, this place, has charge of funeral arrangements."

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral at his late residence on Sunday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. Interment in Union cemetery, Dallastown.

Body may be viewed Saturday evening from 7 to 9."

On 8 November 1934. Clinton died on 8 November 1934 at York Co., Pennsylvania, at age 77. His body was interred in November 1934 at Dallastown, York Co., Pennsylvania, at Dallastown Union Cemetery. Funeral notice from a 11 November 1934 York Co., Pennsylvania newspaper:

The pallbearers were: George, McKinley and Theodore Dellinger, sons of the deceased man, and John A. Bupp, George Hess and Stewart Ness, sons-in-law. Interment took place in the local Union cemetery."
