The funeral of Alexander F. Yarwood, formerly of Rome and Utica, took place at Syracuse yesterday. Mr. Yarwood was a cabinet maker, 63 years old. A year ago, because of bad health, Mr. Yarwood went from Utica to Syracuse to live with his daughter, Mrs. George W. Cooper. On Saturday he died of heart disease. he was well known and highly respected. he is survived by two daughters, Miss Lillian E. Yarwood of Utica, and Mrs. George W. Cooper of Syracuse, two brothers, William and Winslow Yarwood of ROme, and two sisters, Mrs. Eliza Merry of Boonville and Mrs. Sarah Longshore of Utica.

R.J. Yarwood, formerly engaged in the furniture and upholstry business in Rome, New York, died at his home in West Branch, Sunday, January 25, 1885, of consumption. He leaves a widow and two children. They will receive between $4,000 and $5,000 of life insurance from a couple of beneficiary associations of which he was a member.

Friend C. York, 84, of 513 W. Thomas St., died June 23, in a Rome convalescent home. He had been ill about a year. Mr. York was born in Camden June 10, 1867, son of William and Sarah Preller York. He married Hattie L. Stedman Sept. 1, 1891, in Lee Center, with the Rev. H. A.Harris officiating. For many years Mr. York taught school in the Lee Center-Point Rock area. About 1908 he moved to Rome, operating a farm on Upper Floyd Ave until his retirement 12 years ago. Mr. & Mrs. York lived in Florida for two years and returned to Rome about 10 years ago. He was a former bookkeeper at the Oneida County Home. The Yorks would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. He was member of the American Modern Woodsmen. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Jacob E. Tyler and a grandson at Coonrod.

Emmet A. Young, age 70, died at his home, 316 W. Embargo Street, at 10:50 o'clock this forenoon after a short illness. Last Sunday he suffered an attack of acute indigestion which brought on complications and caused his death. he was a son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Young and was born in Troy on May 12, 1847. he came to Rome 60 years ago and had since resided here. in Lee on September 15, 1870 he was married to Miss Frances Adell Dingman who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Henry Barnard Jr. At one time Mr. Young was a member of the firm of A. P. Tuller & Co. wholesale grocers. For a period of 40 years he followed the occupation of commercial salesman. He was a member of Zion Episcopal Church.

Young, John Henry

Schenectady, Sep. 15 - After an illness of more than a year, during which he suffered several strokes of paralysis, John Henry Young, a native of Delta, Oneida county, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of his brother, Cephus Young, of 1008 Albany street. Possessed of a kindly disposition and loved for his many acts of charity he had won the confidence and respect of a large circle of friends. Mr. Young lived in his native home until 20 years ago when he moved to Albany, where he resided until about 10 years ago, then coming to this city, where he resided ever since. had he lived until February 23 next, the deceased would have been 52 years of age. he was a machinist by profession and for a number of years was an employe of the General Electric Company. He was a prominent Odd Fellow and a member of the William Lacey Lodge of Albany. He was also affiliated with St. Paul’s Lodge of this city. Delegations from both lodges took charge of the funeral services Thursday evening. The interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, town of Lee, Oneida county.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Mary A. Young, two children, Nellie I. Young and Cephus Young of this city, and Scotia, and two brothers, Cephus Young of this city, and Martin Young of Temple, NH.

Lee Center, Nov 27 - Miss Lottie Young died at her home on South Street at an early hour Satuday morning. Consumption was the cause of death, and although the end had been foreseen for some weeks, the bereavement is none the less severely felt by her family and friends. The deceased was about 50 years of age and have lived here all her life. In her younger days she was very popular with the young people of Lee Center. She is survived by her mother and one brother, Henry Young, of this village. The funeral will be held Tuesday at the house. Interment at the Lee Center Cemetery.

Young, Mary Park

Lee Center - Sept 22 - Mrs. Mary Park Young, aged 91, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Helen Kenyon, at 10 am today. She had been in feeble health for some time, especially for the past year. For the past 14 years Mrs. Young had made her home with her sister by whom she had been kindly cared, assisted by their niece, Miss Jessie Elmer, who had always lived with her.

Mrs. Young was very kindly disposed to those in need and as her mother was an invalid she was a mother in the family and proved herself worthy of their love. She was born in Lee Center, which had always been her home. June 9, 1841, she was married to David S. Young. There was one child who died in his infancy. Mr. Young died February 1892.

Mrs. Young leaves three brothers and one sister, Dewitt Park of Lee Center, William of Camden and George Park of Syracuse, and Mrs. Helen Kenyon of this place. She also leaves 13 neices and nephews besides many other relatives who will greatly miss her many kindly acts and motherly love. The family has the sympathy of the community which feels the loss of one who has been so long a resident here. The funeral will be held at the home of Mrs. Kenyon Saturday aftenoon at 2 o'clock. It will be conducted by Rev. George Dermott of the M. E. Church. Interment will be made in the Lee Center Cemetery.

Lee Center May 7 - The funeral of Mrs. Sophia Young, who died Wednesday night, was held at her late home Saturday at 2 pm. She had been in failling health for some time past and her death was not unexpected. The deceased had been a resident of this place for a great many years and was highly respected. She was about 80 years of age. One son survivies, Henry Young of Lee Center, also a brother who lives in the east. Interment was made at Lee Center Cemetry.
