He was summoned to Parliament from 29 July 1314 by writs
directed Hugoni le Despenser juniori. He was disinherited and
exiled on 19 Aug 1321. He took refuge in the Cinque Ports, and
engaging in piracy, with the King's connivance, did considerable
damage. After the battle of Boroughbridge, he received large
grants of the lands forfeited by the rebels. He accompanied the
King in his flight to Wales in October 1326, and with the King,
was captured near Llantrisant, Co. Glamorgan, on 16 Nov 1326.
Hugh Le Despenser, Lord le Despenser, was taken to Hereford,
tried, without being allowed to speak in his own defence,
condemned to death as a traitor, and hanged on 24 Nov 1326,
buried some years afterwards at Tewkesbury Abbey."

St. Phillip's Parish is on the North Eastern part of the island,
St. Phillip's church is marked on a map in "A History of
Barbados, 1625-85".
There has been much speculation that these Higginbothams were
pirates in behalf on of the Queen to raid French and Spanish
ships in the area.

5. Edmund of Coleshill, Bucks; married in 1555, Cicely Bell, and
was father of Robt. Waller of Coleshill, who married Ann
Hampden.
"G.C. Waters Chesters of Chickley, a much higher authority,
says that Edmund Waller of Coleshill, who married Cicely Bell,
and was buried April 10, 1603, was a son of Robt. Waller and
Elizabeth Duncombe. Robt. Waller, son of Edmund, was buried at
Beaconsfield Sept. 2, 1616. He married Anne daughter of Griffith
Hampden of Great Hampden. She died April 9, 1653.
