- Came from Scotland and landed at Cape Elizabeth, Maine in 1718, along with his sons William, Andrew, and Walter. Ten years later they received grants of land at Simonton's Cove, now called Willard's Beach.1
- On 23 November 1726 Martha Balstone and Judith Ballard, both of Boston in the County of Suffolk in New England, widows, convey to Andrew Siminton all that certain tract or parcel of land lying in Falmouth in the County of York in New England being upon Papootick side...adjoining land late of John Wallis...land late of Nathaniel White...with six acres of marsh or fresh meadow as it was formerly bounded and laid out to Samson Penley, Senr. of Casco Bay, planter or fisherman, who by deed dated 1 Apr 1687, who granted sold or mortgaged the same to Robert Lawrence of Falmouth as a security for payment of forty five pounds...dated 1 Nov 1683.3
- On 25 November 1726 Andrew Simonton of Glocester in the County of Essex in New England, yeoman, to Martha Balstone and Judith Ballard, both of Boston in the County of Suffolk, widows, for thirty pounds, all that tract of land lying in Falmouth in the County of York being upon Papootick side...(same as described in the above deed dated 23 Nov 1726). (This apparently is a mortgage which was released by James Bowdoin of Boston, representing Martha Balstone and Judith Ballard of Boston, 19 Apr 1731).4
- On 22 April 1728 at Falmouth, Maine, Andrew Simonton and William Simonton were among those admitted as inhabitants provided they pay their ten pounds each person for use of the town and settle in twelve months.5
- On 19 January 1731 Andrew Simonton of Purpoodock in the County of York and Province of Massachusetts Bay in New England, husbandman, for the sum of one hundred pounds paid by Walter Simonton of Purpoodock in said County, Fisherman, conveys to said Walter Simonton land being in Purpoodock, bounded by the land of John Wallis and the land of Nathaniel White. Ann Simonton, wife of Andrew Simonton, surrenders her one-third dower rights. Witnessed by James Simonton and David Love.6
- On 12 June 1731 Andrew Simonton of Falmouth in the County of York and Province of Massachusetts Bay in New England, husbandman, for sixty pounds, conveys to Nathaniel Hill, fifty acres of upland and ten acres of meadow in the township of Wells.7
- On 30 September 1731 Laid out to Andrew Simonton a certain tract of land containing sixty acres in the Township of Falmouth bounded as followeth beginning at the south west corner of Joseph Cobbs sixty acre lot on Barran Hill and bounded on said Cobbs lot running south east one hindred and sixty rods (to a stake) thence running south west sixty rods to a stake thence running north west one hundred and sixty rods to a stake thence sixty rods north east to the first bounds mentioned if the same be free from former Grants.8
- He was made an executor of the will of Mathew Simonton on 22 March 1741; Mathew Simonton of Falmouth in the County of York, Marriner being of perfect mind and memory... To my well beloved Father Andrew Simonton, and also to my beloved Mother Ann Simonton, whom I likewise constitute make and ordain my sole executor and executrix of this my last will and testament all and singular my lands and tenements money and sloop and all singular every part and parcel of my estate be it in what species it will by him and her fully to he possessed and enjoyed they or any of them yielding and paying unto my nephew Mathew White two hundred pounds; and unto my loving Wife the third part of all visible and invisible estate in my possession...but if in case my Wife should bring forth either Son or Daughter then and not otherwise he or she is hereby to be heir of the whole after he or she comes to the years of heirship... Signed Mathew Simonton. Witnesses: John Oryan, Samuel Been, Samuel Dolever. Acknowledged 21 May 1742. Probated 25 Aug 1742. Inventory dated 11 Jun 1742, £3095.3.2, by Dominicus Jordan, Samuel Moody and David Stickney.2
