Their family is in the 1860 census of Center township, Greene county, Indiana.

Rachel died on September 4, 1861. On Aug 7, 1862 Jesse married Mahala Railsback Freeman who had been widowed. They appear in the 1870 census of Center township; their children Elisha Rainbolt and Sarah Freeman who had married in 1858 were living in the next household.

Jesse Rainbolt died on Nov 16, 1873; Mahala Railsback Freeman Rainbolt died on February 28, 1875.
