IfGabriel MAUPINwas born inJargeauabout 1665, he could be a son of another Gabriel MAUPIN surgeon in JARGEAU in 1648 and in DARVOY (close to Jargeau) in 1658. He was born in 1622 and baptized in the huguenot church of BIONNE (22-11-1622). He died between 1667 and 1677 and was married with Catherine THEVENEAU still alive in 1678.
This Gabriel MAUPIN was the son of Etienne MAUPIN the young, attorney in JARGEAU, died before 1629 and married with Anne GRAVET (a family from SULLY-SUR-LOIRE). This Etienne was the son of another Etienne MAUPIN the elder, also attorney in JARGEAU, died before 1630. His wife still living in 1630 was named Gentienne DUCLOUX.
His father was Louis MAUPIN, notary in JARGEAU, in 1572. He is the ancestor of several huguenots families MAUPIN living in JARGEAU and in ORLEANS during the XVIIe and XVIIIe centuries.
Unfortunately the huguenot records was destroyed in 1940 during the war but we still own the notaries records of JARGEAU where I have found these informations.
In 1991, a lady,Mrs Dorthy Maupin Shafett wrote to me about her ancestor Gabriel MAUPIN marriedin 1691 in AMSTERDAM. I had no informations at that time. Do you know this lady ? She was living : 1819 North 82nd Treet, Kansas City, Kansas 66112.
