and building to the named orphans of Joseph Tanner."

probated February 1, 1700 in Henrico County mentions: son Edward
Tanner, dau. Martha Haskins; grandson Thomas Liggon; grandson
Thomas Jones..." (other Liggon grandchildren are also
mentioned.). Mary Browne (later Mary Tanner and Mary Platt)
married Joseph Tanner in 1660. Joseph Died in 1667-8, leaving
behind four young children: Mary, Martha, Edward and Joseph.
Legally they were considered to be orphans, and it is quite
certain that none of them were married."
"He was married to Mary JONES about 1658 in Henrico, Mecklenburg
Co., Virginia. Mary JONES(2) was born about 1635 in resided
Henrico Co., Now Chesterfield, Virginia. She died about 1700 in

Platt of Henrico Co. VA IGI says last name is Jones, and it is
most likely right, since one of their daughters carries Jones as
